Great cuisine. Also, or especially, for children. They can order small dishes from the adults’ menu. Or from the children’s menu. Without fries and the usual soft drinks. But with good potatoes, Carinthian noodles and much more.

Homemade ice cream with real flavour! The classics, strawberry, chocolate, vanilla. And always new flavours. To taste. There is always ice cream. The whole year round. What else?

There is a playroom, board games and plenty of nice books. Outdoors, there is playground, a sandbox, ballgames and many water features. We have ideas and tips for excursions, hiking destinations and places to see animals.

There is also spa time for the little ones. Families can use the spring.pool at any time. The standard spa area is available to all guests over 16 years old.
As a family hotel, we think of everyone! And there’s a goody only for families. On request, we reserve our forest.sauna for families only. So, parents can go to the sauna together with their children without needing to stay quiet. Organic holiday for children and parents, exclusive.

The Gail is a river, which gives the Gailtal valley its name. The meadows directly at the water are simply a paradise. Splashing around and playing. We’re coming! Fresh, clear, mountain water and sand, which tickles your feet.

Little climbers, watch out!

The KleSch climbing centre is only a 5-minute walk from the Bio hotel. It's Carinthia’s largest climbing centre. It has a colourful, adventurous children’s area. Older children can try out climbing in the bouldering area or climbing hall. Any maybe the whole family would like to try archery? Registration mandatory. Courses on request.

Let's pay our animal friends a visit

And they especially enjoy visits from our young guests. In summer, the cows and sheep enjoy their mountain holiday and can be seen on the meadows. In the valley there is a game reserve. On the next farm, you can find clucking chickens and grazing horses on the green meadows. And there is also a petting zoo for our animal-loving holidaymakers.

On the pedals, get set, go!

The Gail river is not just about fun on the water. The R3 trail runs along the river. Our biking trail! We recommend that families cycle downhill towards Hermagor. There are several options for taking a break there. The forest playground in Dellach. The ice cream vending machine with Lissi's cool farmer’s ice cream and beautiful bridges and meadows along the Gail.

Mountain adventure

The meadow is calling. Maybe even the next summit. Cows and calves are waiting for you up there. Let's go looking for flowers and stones. And then there are the tours, which tell stories of old times. And once you reach the summit, you forget everything else anyway. The summit book needs to be signed and scribbled on. And the highlight? The delicious snacks! In the middle of the valley or in a rustic mountain hut.

The family ski resort in Kötschach-Mauthen is fun for both younger and older children. Uncomplicated. Familiar. Not too busy. From children’s lift to the chairlift. Wide pistes and sunny slopes make the first turns easier. We especially recommend learning how to ski by taking skiing lessons.
